Prices include installation, certification, the solar and battery rebate (STCs) and GST.

Sized for winter

What a large system runs in a Ballarat July

A 4-bedroom kit is designed for 5 people, about 30 kWh a day. A 5-bedroom kit is designed for 6 people, about 35 kWh a day.

Each kit is sized on July, when solar makes the least. The battery carries the home through two grey days in a row. Check your size with the calculator.

An EV, a pool pump or a workshop adds to that. Tell us about them and we'll size for them.

  • Full occupancy

Sized for everyone the home could hold.

  • Worst-case winters

Solar sized on July, when it makes the least.

  • Two days of battery

Enough storage for two grey days in a row.

  • Redundancy

A second path, so one failed part doesn't mean no power.

Questions

Large off-grid system questions

Go by how many people the home could hold. A 4-bedroom kit suits 5 people. A 5-bedroom kit suits 6.

Sizing for the full house covers guests and a growing family.

Yes, if we plan for it. An EV can add a lot to your daily use. About 60 km of driving adds roughly 10 kWh a day.

Tell us how far you drive so we can size for it.

Usually not. Big machines in a workshop or shed may need it.

We check your loads first.

Yes, or at least some backup power source. Our design goal is to avoid routine generator use. Extended grey weather, unusually high consumption or repairs make backup power useful.

We discuss those limits when designing your power supply. Learn what generator-less off-grid design means.

Yes, if your system has capacity for expansion. Extra panels depend on inverter limits. Extra batteries must be compatible.

Learn more about balancing solar and battery expansion. Tell us your plans before installation so we can leave room to grow.

Solar and battery trade off. More panels means you need less battery for grey days. More battery means you can get by with fewer panels.

Both can pass our July check. We pick the mix that suits your site and your budget.
