TwinGuard Redundancy with 24kW Expansion Ready
This new home near Ballarat is designed to operate entirely off-grid from day one. The owners wanted enough inverter capacity to power everyday household loads while building redundancy into the system, so a single equipment failure wouldn’t leave the property without electricity.
They also wanted the flexibility to expand the solar array in the future without replacing the core electrical infrastructure.
TwinGuard Off-Grid System Built to Expand
The installation uses two Sigenergy 6kW inverters operating in parallel, delivering 12kW of inverter capacity today.
The TwinGuard architecture provides more than extra capacity. If one inverter is taken offline or develops a fault, the second inverter continues supplying power to the home. That’s what redundancy means in practice.
The system currently operates with a 12kW solar array but has been designed to support up to 24kW of solar panels as the property’s energy requirements increase.
