A 20kW Off-Grid System for an All-Electric Home
This property, located just outside Ballarat, was designed to operate entirely off-grid while supporting the demands of a modern all-electric home. Along with everyday household loads, the owners wanted enough capacity to charge their Tesla without compromising the home’s energy supply.
Built Around Three Deye Inverters and 45kWh of Storage
The system combines three 6kW Deye inverters operating in parallel with a 45kWh lithium battery bank and a 20kW solar array. Together, they provide the inverter capacity and battery storage needed to supply high-demand appliances while making full use of the available solar generation.
The larger battery bank also allows excess daytime solar to be stored for overnight use and periods of reduced winter production.
This installation was our first off-grid project using Deye inverters.
Designed for Everyday Off-Grid Living
This system gives the owners enough capacity to run their home as they normally would while charging an electric vehicle from their own solar generation.
Rather than sizing the system around minimum daily consumption, it was designed to support the way the family actually lives. The result is an off-grid installation that combines high solar production, substantial battery storage and enough inverter capacity for everyday life.
