Just wrapped up an off-grid solar upgrade near Daylesford, VIC. The place was running on an older setup — Selectronic inverter, Fronius AC-coupled, and lead acid batteries. It worked, but it was time for a refresh.
We added a Sigenergy system with an 8kW inverter, 13kW of Jinko 510W panels, and 16kWh of lithium batteries. One cool part of the setup is the 12kW DC car charger — we’re seeing more off-grid homes charging EVs now, which just shows how much easier off-grid living is getting with better solar capacity.
The owner’s also planning to use their EV as a backup battery on tough days — smart move. We managed to integrate the old and new systems using the Sigenergy gateway, so they now share loads and work together nicely.
