Off-Grid Living in Australia: Leading the World in Off-Grid Solar Energy

100UP Off-Grid Solar recently participated in the Off-Grid Living Festival, held on April 6th and 7th, 2024, in Chiltern, Victoria. The event attracted people from all over Victoria and the nearby parts of New South Wales. We were thrilled to present Sigenergy’s latest and most advanced system at this event. Attendees responded positively, praising the unit for its smart design and expressing surprise at its capabilities. This enthusiastic turnout and engagement highlight the growing interest in independent power supply and off-grid living across Australia. According to Semrush and Google Trends data, the monthly searches for off-grid solar systems are as follows: USA – 6,600; Indonesia – 5,400; Australia – 1,900; South Africa – 1,600. This indicates a significant and increasing global interest in sustainable living solutions. When we divide the number of searches by the population, it becomes evident that Australia is the biggest consumer of off-grid solar per capita, with approximately 7.45 searches per 100,000 people, compared to 1.99 for the USA, 1.97 for Indonesia, and 2.70 for South Africa. This is no surprise, as Australia, with its vast land and low population density spread across rural areas, faces incredibly high costs for power connections, making them impractical or impossible in many places.
